The best batsmen in world Virat Kohli is at the
verge of breaking the record of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s record.
Virat is very near to get an entry into the 10000
ODI Runs Club. So far Kohli had scored 9779 runs in 211 One Day International’s
with the average of 58.20. He needs just 221 more runs to become the 13th
player in the 10k ODI Runs group.
Before Kohli, 12 batsmen already features in the
list including Sachin Tendulkar who
scored 18426 runs, Sourav Ganguly who scored 1136 runs, Rahul Dravid who scored
10889 runs and MS Dhoni who scored 10079 runs in ODI. Apart from them Kumar Sangakkara, Brian Lara,
Sanath Jayasuriya and others also hold a place in 10000 runs group.
Virat Kohli is in full form and if he plays all the 5 matches then this record
will definitely be established. Kohli needs only 187 runs in 5 match ODI series
to overtake Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 1573 runs in 39 ODIs at an average of
52.73 against the West Indies.
Virat Kohli will become the Highest Indian ODI
run-getter of all the times against West Indies. Currently, this record belongs
to Sachin Tendulkar. Virat Kohli so far had played 27 ODI’s against West Indies
scoring 1387 runs at the average of 60.30.
Rahul Dravid is third in the list after Virat
Kohli with 1348 runs in 40 matches with the average of 42.12. Sourav Ganguly is
on the fourth position in the list with 1142 runs in 27 matches.
Also, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virat
Kohli, and Sourav Ganguly are the
four batsmen who have scored 1000+ runs against West Indies in ODI.
